What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-Level Provider position at COMMUNITY MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE, INC?
CMH is searching for a Mid-Level Provider who will be located in the Emergency Department.
The position provides primary health/emergency care to all patients, neonate through the geriatric population, urgent and non-urgent presenting to the Emergency Department.
Documents all findings and actions appropriately in the electronic health record. Maintaining compliance with the required timelines for completion of all medical records.
Provides diagnostic and assessment services including health or illness history, physical examinations, request for laboratory, radiology or any other test or examination deemed medically necessary.
Treats and manage those patient conditions that are within the scope and ability of his/her experience and/or will consult with or request assistance from a supervising physician as needed.
Interprets subjective and objective data including laboratory and diagnostic tests to formulate a diagnosis.
Collaborates patient’s diagnosis and plan of care with ED back-up provider. Obtaining appropriate approvals and signatures on medical records and order sheets as indicated by the medical staff bylaws. May initiate admission to the hospital in conjunction with provider.
Evaluates the effectiveness of patients’ plans of care and makes revisions as necessary always consulting the ED back-up provider.
Formulates diagnoses and treatment plans; implements therapeutic interventions; orders, prescribes and administers drugs and medical devices within the ARNP or PA scope of practice.
Consults and refers patient to other healthcare professionals and specialties as appropriate, i.e., psychiatry, orthopedics, physical therapy, social services.
Provides counseling/education for patients and families on preventative healthcare, disease processes, potential medication side effects, etc. Advises patient of need to follow up with primary care physician.
Able to manage patients on ventilators; endotracheal tubes, nasogastric tubes; performs venipuncture, venous cutdown, inserts central venous lines, arterial punctures; administers parenteral fluids, blood/blood products; performs wound care, suturing, cast application and removal; cares for soft tissue injuries; performs lumbar punctures and other procedures under the supervision of the ED back-up provider.
Able to perform minor surgical procedures.
Stays current with new developments in emergency medicine through continuing education, seminars and affiliations with professional societies.
