What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) Lead Facilitator position at Community Music Center of Boston Inc?
CMCB seeks Lead Facilitators to help coordinate the day-to-day elements of the Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) Program , a 7-week summer program for rising high school seniors in Boston administered by EdVestors , an education nonprofit. Working in close partnership with organizations throughout the city, these students will work as interns at arts and cultural institutions and attend program cohort days dedicated to college and career readiness, cultural experiences, field trips, and college visits.
CMCB is a longtime partner of EdVestors, serving as a worksite for the BAI Program, and is working in close partnership with EdVestors to provide direct service to interns during Summer 2025.
Any candidate with interest in the arts , experience working with and mentoring teens , and strong interpersonal and organizational skills could be successful in the Lead Facilitator position. BAI alums are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Status : Part-time hourly, non-exempt, temporary (April 2025 - August 2025)
Start Date : April 2025
Schedule : In person, Monday - Friday, occasional evening and weekend hours with advance notice; 20-25 hours per week (April and May), 35-40 hours per week (June through August)
Reports to : Youth Development Manager (YDM)
Responsibilities
Program Administration
- Implement program logistics such as attendance monitoring, scheduling, curriculum creation, supplies, technology, and travel.
- Assist with evaluation, documentation, and showcasing of program impact
- Co-plan and facilitate meaningful lesson plans on community building, mentorship, and workforce readiness
- Work closely with BAI Alumni

The duties of this position are typically performed indoors in a business / office setting from mid-April to June. From July to August, duties shift to being performed outdoors in a cultural site setting twice a week, and it is common to encounter adverse weather or temperature conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate during active programming hours and minimal otherwise. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 25-50% of the time. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. They will need to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The person in this position frequently communicates verbally with internal and external constituents and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
