DEPOSIT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
BASIC SUMMARY:
The Deposit Services Representative provides a variety of support services to both internal and external customers and performs tasks validating balancing of the bank and other accounts tied to SOX controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer inquiries from customers, both internal and external.
- Balance various clearing accounts to GL daily.
- Process file maintenance changes received from other CNB offices, customers, and daily reports – customer, deposit account, safe deposit box, debit card.
- Handle exception items that reject during nightly processing – check and electronic - unposted, overdraft, stop payments.
- Understand payment system rules and procedures (NACHA, Federal Reserve, VISA).
- Process and balance incoming and outgoing wire transfers.
- Monitor activity and changes and note exceptions for follow-up.
- Assist customers with debit card transaction issues, fraudulent transactions, compromised cards, and disputes. Create new debit cards and maintain card printer.
- Accept, process, and log legal process documents - subpoenas, summons, levies.
- Set up deposit accounts (checking, savings, CD) that need to be add manually outside of Argo software.
- Complete account verifications and credit references – paper and electronic.
- Process daily outgoing mail, including monthly newsletters sent pre-sorted.
- Comply with Code of Ethics standards and all applicable bank compliance laws and regulations.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
· Other: Must have demonstrated skills in: customer service, attention to detail, general math skills, verbal communication, integrity, selling to customer needs, people skills, financial skills, ,thoroughness, and documentation. Must be able to learn new software quickly. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and work/type at a computer.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· General office working conditions, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
