Job Overview
We’re looking for a warm and caring Substitute Teacher to join our play-based nursery school team! In this role, you’ll step in to create a positive, fun, and supportive environment for our youngest learners. Your days will be filled with imaginative play, exploration, and gentle guidance, helping children learn through hands-on activities while the regular teacher is away. Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging, play-based lessons that encourage curiosity and hands-on learning.
- Create a calm and welcoming classroom environment where children feel safe to explore and grow.
- Gently manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and age-appropriate strategies.
- Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each child, including those with special educational needs.
- Support children in discovering the world around them through play, art, and storytelling.
Requirements
- A genuine love for working with young children and an understanding of the importance of play in their learning.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Complete a quick (and free!) 5-hour online health and safety course—no worries, we’ll guide you through it!
- Flexible schedule, we could call you the week before, the night before, or the morning of the coverage.
