Intermittent Substitute Teacher

The Ithaca Waldorf School (www.ithacawaldorf.org) is seeking enthusiastic, organized and motivated teachers as substitutes on an as-needed basis.
This position takes place between the hours of 8am-3:15pm Monday-Friday.
For the 2024/25 school year the compensation is $18.45/hour $50 minimum for less than 3 hours. Ideal candidates are friendly, open, well-spoken, and warm. The Ithaca Waldorf School has two Early Childhood classrooms, each taught by a lead teacher with two assistants as well as a grades curriculum offered for 1st-8th grades.
All candidates should be able to provide a safe, nurturing and orderly environment which meets the needs of the children in their care. Please note that outdoor play is part of the daily routine for children of all ages. Substitutes may be asked to supervise outdoor recess in all types of weather. Guidance will be provided by the Faculty mentors and substitute plans will be given. It is expected that the substitute teacher will leave a clean and orderly classroom at the end of each day.

The independent, not-for-profit Ithaca Waldorf School is authorized by the New York State Department of Education to provide instruction through Grade 8. A fully-accredited member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), we are currently a developing school with the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. The Ithaca Waldorf School is nestled in the New York Finger Lakes on an 80-acre organic campus composed of field, forest and a biodynamic and educational farm ().
