The Mission Center Financial Officer is the primary promoter of Disciples Generous Response and promotes healthy life-stewardship as an integral component of discipleship, modeling public ministry that is aligned with the church’s identity, mission, message and beliefs. The Mission Center Financial Officer manages financial assets, human resources, risk and legal exposure within the mission center, representing the World Church to congregations, affiliates, governmental entities and community partners. Must be willing to relocate and live in the mission center.

The Mission Center Financial Officer manages financial assets, human resources, risk and legal exposure within the mission center, representing the World Church to congregations, affiliates, governmental entities and community partners. Essential Functions
- Encourage incorporation of Disciples Generous Response and its principles into members daily lives by preaching, teaching and performing the sacraments.
- Appoint, train, support, and communicate with congregational Financial Officers and Recorders.
- Responsible for mission center and congregation assets, including developing and monitoring of annual Mission Center approved budgets; timely processing of contributions; maintenance of contributors' database; collecting, receipting and accounting for all mission center and affiliate funds; successful completion of annual financial statement inspections for mission center, congregations, and campground and/or other affiliates.
- World Church representative on all boards of directors.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of church properties within the mission center, to include onsite World Church representative for all building projects.
- Serve as Risk Manager for the mission center in coordination with World Church Risk Management practices and policies.
- Follow policies and procedures of the church and regulatory groups with the goal of full compliance in all activities.
- Provide accounting management support for congregations and affiliates with the goal of assisting the congregational financial officers with accounting and reporting responsibilities, as needed.
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries, reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and all income and expense accounts.
- Examines existing systems, methods, and reports with the goal of continuous improvement of the financial accounting and human resources processes assuring proper internal control and bookkeeping and accounting procedures are integrated into the administrative structure of the mission center and congregations.
- Ensure cross training of self and team members to provide for ease of process transferal during team member vacations and sick leave.
- Responsible for mission center records retention and management.
- Responsible for all other duties that may be assigned.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in local congregation and/or mission center
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, and human resources, legal and risk issues
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and listening
- Proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Office, and ability to quickly learn other software
- Ability to recognize, report and resolve situations out of the ordinary or out of compliance
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and integrity
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal savvy
