Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are now hiring a Full-Time or Part-Time Psychologist in Rockville, MD. The Psychologist uses best practices and technology within a community-based setting to assist, train, and supervise individuals with developmental disabilities in the activities of daily living and socialization skills.
$90,000/ annually based on experience
Responsibilities
- Write behavior support plans (BSPs) including synthesizing information from numerous sources, visiting/observing individuals as necessary, graphing, and interpreting behavioral data
- Conduct preference and functional assessments to evaluate the maintaining function of behaviors and incorporating psychiatric, medical, and health-related issues into the analysis
- Orally present BSPs to appropriate review committees
- Provide competency-based training to staff on the BSP and other topics as necessary
- Monitor BSP implementation, assessing lack of progress, formulating recommendations, and retrain staff as necessary
- Provide individual counseling, mentoring, and participate in committee meetings
- Work with an interdisciplinary team including, and consult with other team members to assess issues and functions of behavior
- Participate in psychiatric consultations and medical reviews
- Formulate Individual Service Plan (ISP) reports and attend ISP meetings, Behavior Management Committee (BMC) meetings, and attend psychologist professional development and staff meetings
- Provide agency in-service training as requested, and consultation to agencies requesting such services as assigned
- Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- BCBA degree preferred
- Certifications required: 407, 921
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities who have significant challenging behaviors and co-occurrence of mental health issues
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance in various contexts, mental processes, or the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Experience producing written behavioral development plans in specified formats Experience analyzing data for trends and behavioral function
- Experience with administering or assisting in administering psychological or psychiatric assessments
- Experience communicating with clients, parents, guardians, and staff
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
