Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are actively seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor in Newtown, PA. The Accounting Supervisor will work with the fiscal team, CFO, VP of Accounting, Controller, Assistant Controllers, and accountants to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of staff accountants
- Direct, motivate, delegate, and empower staff in the successful performance of tasks and responsibilities while encouraging innovation
- Approve accounts payable invoices and T&E for assigned regions
- Prepare, review, approve, and post journal entries to support month-end close
- Analyze and monitor balance sheets and income statement accounts
- Review semi-monthly payroll for validation of allocations and budget
- Prepare grants/contracts billing and assist with billing inquiries
- Review and analyze monthly variance reports before internal management distribution
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual cost reports as required by funding sources
- Prepare, enter, and maintain budgets in accounting software
- Approve Divvy card requests from regions
- Manage preparation, submission, and payment of sales taxes
- Prepare and provide account reconciliations for compliance and annual audits
- Assist with the compilation and review of FTE reports for each payroll cycle
- Monitor the preparation of monthly vacancy report for accuracy
- Prepare and monitor monthly PNA, room, and board schedules
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
- Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
- CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Extensive knowledge of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Demonstrated capability with budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, and staff management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
- Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Bill.com, Kofax and OnBase a plus
