Community Partnership for Children (CPC) is seeking compassionate volunteers to support children’s academic growth and enrichment through our Homework and Afterschool Programs. This is a wonderful opportunity to provide mentorship, academic assistance, and engagement to children in Grant County and surrounding areas.
Homework & Afterschool Programs Support Volunteer:
· Provide direct support to children in afterschool programs, helping with homework and reinforcing learning in subjects such as math, reading, and science.
· Assist students in developing effective study habits and problem-solving skills.
· Engage with children in interactive activities that promote literacy, critical thinking, and social-emotional development.
· Support program staff in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
· Help organize educational and recreational activities that enhance learning beyond the classroom.
· Build positive relationships with students, fostering confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
· Provide encouragement and guidance to children facing academic challenges.
· Collaborate with CPC staff to ensure students receive individualized attention and appropriate resources.
· Assist in gathering feedback from students and families to help improve program effectiveness.
General Responsibilities:
· Communicate effectively with program staff, students, and families.
· Follow CPC’s policies and procedures to ensure a positive and professional volunteer experience.
· Attend volunteer meetings, training sessions, and afterschool program events as needed.
· Support CPC’s mission of strengthening early childhood education and academic success through advocacy and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Passion for working with children and supporting their educational success.
· Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative when needed.
· Basic knowledge of core subjects (math, reading, writing, and science) to support student learning.
· Must pass a background check.
