SUMMARY:
To provide services in the areas of Medicaid application, eligibility determination, data input, and payment vouchering
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtains and maintains appropriate case documentation for determining eligibility of children and for maintaining compliance.
- Maintains open communication with Protective Investigators and Case Managers responsible for supervising cases of children in care, obtaining information in order to determine eligibility.
- Completes Medicaid applications for children in out-of-home paid placements and works with Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) Child in Care (CIC) Specialists to obtain Medicaid eligibility.
- Completes Medicaid applications for relative and non-relative placements.
- Enters demographic, placement and payment data into the Integrated Child Welfare Services Information Systems (ICWSIS) for foster care, group care, and adoptions.
- Enters placement and demographic data into Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) for all children.
- Enters eligibility data into ICWSIS and FSFN.
- Communicates to ESS/CIC all placement change information.
- Works with the Finance Department to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Provides necessary documents to ESS for required annual Medicaid reviews for all children in out-of-home paid placements, relative and non-relative placements, and adoptive children.
- Completes required annual TANF redeterminations for children in out of home paid placements and adoptive children.
- Attends staff meetings, in-service training and other meetings, staffings, or conferences as necessary.
- Provides technical assistance on the completion of all eligibility forms.
- Participates in the quality improvement process.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of one year of related experience

PREFERRED:
Bachelor's Degree
Child Welfare credentials, as issued by Florida Certification Board
Previous experience in client eligibility determination
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Possess a current Background Clearance Screening Letter as required by DCF; and successfully complete the background screening requirements for Community Partnership for Children.
- If local travel is required, a Valid Florida driver’s license and documentation of current automobile insurance, is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in an office/clerical environment. The employee will work predominantly seated with recurrent need to walk, stand, and bend from the waist. Occasional light lifting, stooping, and climbing may be required. Occasional local travel.
