Organization Overview:
The Dalton Community Recreation Association (CRA) is a collaborative non-profit organization established in 1923, dedicated to building a sense of community by offering social, educational, recreational, cultural, and wellness programs to the Central Berkshire community in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
Position Summary:
The Morning Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons using the CRA pool during early morning hours. This position requires strong attentiveness, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and committed to providing a positive experience for all pool users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance & Safety: Monitor the pool area to prevent accidents and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Customer Service: Engage with patrons in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Pool Maintenance: Conduct routine checks of pool chemical levels, cleanliness, and equipment functionality.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to all pool rules and CRA policies to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard Certification and CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
- Strong swimming skills and ability to remain vigilant for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Requires standing, sitting, and patrolling pool areas for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform water rescues as needed.
