Job Description:
The Counselors Assistant's primary responsibility is to ensure that all Administrative duties are completed on time and accurately.
- Monitors, supervises & reports on client behaviors & attitudes and provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Provides tracking & tracing services as requested.
- Completes a thorough assessment and intake of each new admission into the Therapeutic Community.
- Provides, and documents the completion of a comprehensive orientation and intake into the Therapeutic Community.
- Thoroughly documents all interactions and activities within the treatment records and the stuff log.
- Participates as a member of the treatment team providing input & observations as appropriate.
- Reports on activities of the alumni association of the Corrections Program as needed.
- Completes the filing of related documents and other data in a timely manner and manages an effective retrieval system of all materials and helps maintain clinical file.
- Maintains an accurate and current sign-out system of all records that allows each file to be effectively tracked at all times.
- Send and retrieves documents and mail to/from other locations to ensure continuity of client care.
- Answers telephone calls and to assist the callers while using good manners, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Compiles and submits reports including accurate caseload lists and staffing minutes in a timely manner.
- Maintains sound relationships with correctional personnel and other services providers and community linkages.
- Collaborates and cooperates as a team member within the Corrections Therapeutic Community.
- Compiles with all JSO policies and regulation for contractual employees.
- Complies with all confidentiality regulations and policies.
- Participates in regular clinical staff meetings and records minutes of each staff meeting.
- Must work effectively in an atmosphere of dignity and respect for clients and co-workers.
- Participate in RRHS internal training programs.
- Participate in RRHS Quality Improvement Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Successful completion of the aftercare component of the corrections program is preferred.
- A valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record are required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Must be eligible for Level 2 DCF Background Screening approval.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Computer competency required.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Experience in a social service environment is preferred.
- Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
