Job Description:
The Corrections Counselor must maintain caseloads that are assigned to the Therapeutic Community members and provide individual, group counseling, and crisis counseling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintains a solid knowledge base of Therapeutic Community principles, rudiments, elements and Collaborates and cooperates as a team member within the Corrections Therapeutic Community. .
· Ensures functional linkages with the Corrections Aftercare component& all JSO personnel.
· Maintains thorough and complete documentation of all services and ensures clinical file meets requirements of state regulation, accreditation standards, RRHS policy, and all legal requirements.
· Completes probation and drug court reports in a timely and complete manner.
· Leads and participates in team discharge planning with the Correction Case Managers and other appropriate parties.
· Complies with all confidentiality regulations & policies.
· Complies with all JSO policies and regulations and policies.
· Maintains sound relationships with correctional personnel & other services providers & community linkages.
· Supervises Therapeutic Community members during recreational & other structured activities.
· Participate in RRHS internal training programs.
· Participate in RRHS Quality Improvement Program.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral health or human service with at least two years of relevant experience is required.
- Acceptable professional certification as an addictions and/or criminal justice professional preferred.
- A valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
- Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Experience in a social service environment is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be knowledgeable of 65D-30 standards.
- Must be eligible for Level 2 DCF Background Screening approval.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.
- The ability to correctly document and complete services in the RRHS Electronic Health Record according to the standard timelines of documentation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $39,000.00 per year
