Posted Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 5 : 00 AMJob Summary : As a member of Human Resources and Culture and reporting to the Director of HR Ops & Payroll, the Payroll Specialist will play a key role in supporting payroll operations and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee pay. This position focuses on managing payroll systems and processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and maintaining data integrity. The Payroll Specialist will also collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues, provide detailed reporting, and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will assist with payroll HRIS technology integrations, upgrades, and new system features, ensuring our HR technology remains cutting-edge and effective. To support informed decision-making, they will generate detailed reports and analytics on HR metrics, providing valuable insights into strategic planning.Identifying and recommending improvements to Payroll and HR processes and systems will be a key responsibility, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness. As we adopt new HR technologies, the Payroll Specialist will provide necessary training and support for our staff, ensuring smooth transitions and ongoing proficiency.Responsibilities : Administer and process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Verify payroll data, including hours worked, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.Maintain and update payroll-related data within HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational changes.Act as a subject matter expert for payroll functionality within HR systems (currently Dayforce).Prepare payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and headcount summaries, to support HR and Finance needs.Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with Finance.Ensure adherence to all payroll-related policies, legal standards, and best practices for data privacy and security.Stay informed about changes in tax laws and other regulations affecting payroll.Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries and issues, providing resolution in a timely and professional manner.Provide training and support to employees on payroll processes, such as accessing pay stubs or updating tax information.Identify opportunities to optimize payroll processes and enhance system capabilities.Collaborate with HRIS specialists to implement system upgrades or integrations as needed.Assist with other HR technology applications and perform additional tasks as assigned.Required Skills / Abilities : Demonstrated proficiency with the Dayforce or similar HRIS platform.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Very effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and levels of management.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.Be a self-starter and can work independently within a cross-functional team environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Required Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information systems, business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.At least 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll administration and processing.Familiarity with payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards.Affirmative Action / EEO Statement : All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.Other Duties : Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
