What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Coordinator - District Office position at Community School for Apprenticeship Learning, Inc.?
HR Coordinator performs administrative and clerical tasks within the HR department, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee record-keeping, and providing administrative support to employees and management. This is a full time, onsite, in-person, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads by example in adherence and knowledge of the CSAL, Inc. Vision, Mission and Values.
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service and professional phone etiquette. Able to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Follows established processes for handling employee records confidently.
- Proactive and takes initiative. Thinks creatively. Drives projects to completion.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assisting with the recruitment process, planning job fairs, managing job requisitions, candidate applications, coordinating with hiring managers.
- Overseeing the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
Employee Relations:
- Serving as a point of contact for employees with HR-related questions and concerns.
- Assisting with employee issues, such as forms, processes and compliance.
Administrative Support:
- Maintaining employee files, both digital and physical.
- Works with large amounts of data, researches and interprets records, detects errors, and makes necessary corrections.
- Preparing reports for HR management and other departments.
- Supporting the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Assist in the creation of compensation memos.
- Assisting with the administration of employee benefits programs.
- Supporting the annual Open Enrollment process.
- Ensure enrollment in TRSL is done accurately and within deadlines.
Terminations
- Overseeing the separation process, completing Separation forms, and COBRA Notices.
- Ensuring compliance to all District, State and Federal laws and requirements.
May perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED – required
- College degree or 1 – 2 years’ experience in an HR or office role with a wide variety of responsibilities - preferred
- Proficient with MS Office and Adobe
- Experience with HR databases and/or HRIS systems (Paycor or similar system) – preferred
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Work Environment
- This is an onsite, in-person position. Usual office working environment.
- May be noisy during high traffic times during business hours
- Temperatures may change from very hot to very cold depending on the location of work and the weather.
- Length of work day may vary based on extended days, District/School schedules, evening activities and emergencies.
- May require work on weekends and/or holidays and scheduled school breaks.
