Job Title: Substitute Teacher – K-8 Charter School
Reports To: Principal/Substitute Coordinator
School: CSDVA Charter School
Position Overview:
CSDVA Charter School is seeking dedicated and flexible substitute teachers who are passionate about education and the success of all students. Our Substitute Teachers are responsible for providing continuity in student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, facilitating a positive classroom environment, and promoting the mission and values of our school.
Responsibilities:
Follow and deliver lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
Create and maintain a respectful and orderly classroom environment.
Adapt to varying grade levels and instructional needs while upholding the school’s curriculum and values.
Utilize classroom management strategies that align with the school's policies and philosophy.
Assess and record student progress and provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher.
Implement a variety of instructional techniques suitable for the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom and on school grounds.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred not mandatory.
Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred, especially in a K-8 setting preferred.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to follow and enforce school policies and procedures.
Adaptability and readiness to work with various grade levels.
Availability to work on an on-call basis and willingness to accept assignments with short notice.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time.
Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
Sufficient mobility to interact with students and navigate the classroom and school grounds.
Payment/Salary:
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Pay rate range: $150 - $160 per day.
