JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Mental Health and Disabilities and CLASS Manager, performs a variety of duties such as classroom observations, consultations, coaching, staff and parent training, and individual child and family centered observations and consultations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visits each classroom at least once a month.
- Provides child development information related to social-emotional development and mental health.
- Provides guidance to staff on selecting, implementing, and interpreting social-emotional screening and assessment findings.
- Provides guidance and model developmentally appropriate activities for children and effective ways to work with and support young children.
- Provides written and oral observation and strengths-based feedback to classrooms on a quarterly basis.
- Supports, coordinates, and provides staff trainings related to social-emotional and mental health issues at least once per quarter.
- Support the initial onboarding of all staff members at CSA and provide annual trainings thereafter.
- Meets with classroom teams quarterly to discuss observations and to develop and implement plans as needed for professional development.
- Recruits participants for at least one parent training per year.
- Coordinates and facilitates parent training.
- Coordinates and facilitates parent trainings specifically for healthy promotion of social-emotional/mental health of children transitioning to Kindergarten.
- Conducts observations and assessments of individual children as assigned or referred for consultation.
- Partners with staff and families to develop and implement behavior plans as needed.
- Meets with families to consult on child and family needs and create or follow up on plans to support these needs.
- Performs other activities as may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University with a major in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Psychology, or related field and at least 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Preferred: Experience with mental health issues, special needs and behavior management.

Must have the ability to perform duties which require:
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Stand, walk, sit, carry, push, and pull.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to climb and balance.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move manipulate and or hold objects up to 25 pounds. Objects that exceed the 25-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating.
