JOB SUMMARY
Plays a supporting role to the teaching staff of Head Start in educating children in activities designed to promote social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth needed for primary school and healthy childhood development in accordance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; six training hours in Early Childhood Education and one year related teaching experience in a preschool environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience working with young children.
Preferred:
Some coursework in Early Childhood Education.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Sheriff’s Card, TB Test results, Health Verification, CPR & First Aid, Infectious Disease & Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse & Neglect, Nevada Registry, and valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, sit, carry, push, and pull; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; ability to climb and balance; ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception; must have ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to perform work indoors and outdoors. Work location will be determined based on need. Employee can be expected to be moved from one classroom to another during the course of employment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote early childhood education and development.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for preschool children.
- Support children with special needs and adapt learning materials as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain records of student attendance and assist with daily routines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.34 - $17.15 per hour
