Community Services for Children is seeking an Intake Specialist to provide interested families with early learning resources to support their child’s future success. With a friendly comprehensive customer service approach, the Intake Specialist responds to inquiries, assesses family needs, provides local resources and referrals, and reviews family eligibility for all programs. Work Environment: Newly hired Community Services for Children staff members will receive a $500 net monetary incentive. The candidate will receive the $500 payout upon completion of probation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to families of young children seeking information and opportunities to meet child and family needs
- Provide daily support to customers and staff by managing walk-in visitors, responding to phone and website inquiries as needed
- Meet with families to conduct a needs assessment and provide information, resources, and referrals
- Develop expertise knowledge of a variety of community resources including related eligibility requirements for early education and human services programs
- Assist families with completing the Child Care Works application and coordinate schedules for face-to-face application interviews for Head Start/Early Head Start/Pre-K Counts
- Document work and maintain accurate records utilizing appropriate databases and/or electronic file systems
- Provide translation and interpretation services as needed and assigned
- Provide back-up support to front desk Facilities Operations Support Specialist to cover lunches, vacation, and other times as needed
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or Associates Degree in Social Service, Business or Computer Science preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Two years of related customer service experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programs
- Proficient with using databases, software, record tracking systems
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals of varying economic, educational, and cultural backgrounds
- Valid driver’s license, full-time use of vehicle
- Hours: Monday through Friday / 8:30am – 5:00pm
