The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely review and management of Accounts Payable functions for the agency and for accounting responsibilities related to the low-income housing program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews vendor invoice entries in accordance with accounts payable procedures and ensures proper authorizations, purchase requisition matching and coding in accordance with agency policy.
- Completes the review, verification, coding, and data entry of invoices for payment processing.
- Ensures proper use of accounting software when matching and coding invoices for payment.
- Reviews and releases Accounts Payable batches for compliance and accuracy completed by Accounting Clerks.
- Reviews reimbursable expense requests for contracts (i.e., FSS, Self-Direction, etc.)
- Voids checks in accounting software as needed.
- Enters vendors into the accounting software system.
- Acts as the accounting software system administrator including user, workflow, and security maintenance.
- Trains new managers in Accounts Payable processes.
- Ensure the monthly Accounts Payable schedule is met.
- Records accrual journal entry in a timely manner.
- Annual 1099 and 1096 Filing.
- Prepares journal entries for housing entities.
- Assists in the preparation of housing entities’ financial reports.
- Responsible for creating efficiency using technology.
- Assembles records for various audits and financial reviews.
- Provides general accounting services in the absence of other business office staff.
- Other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Accounts Payable/Accounting Clerks, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Self-Directed Financial Liaison.
