We have Residential Assistant Site Managers open in several areas of Western New York including Gowanda, Hamburg, Buffalo, Tonawanda and Amherst. These are primarily second shift schedules with one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday. Please contact us for more details on location and schedule.
Assists the Site Manager with day-to-day general operations of their assigned site; provides support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring that they are properly trained and prepared to meet the needs of the individuals residing at the site.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Makes decisions based on the NYS DSP Code of Ethics and Agency’s mission, vision and values and holds team to the same standards; serves as a role model upholding the core behaviors in the Agency’s Living the Mission statement; consistently displays ethical decision making.
- Promotes Person Centered Planning, considering the dreams and goals of individuals being served using Personal Outcome Measures (POMs) and knowledge of person-centered practices and tools.
- Assesses ability of skill sets of persons served through observation and monitoring of daily documentation, to determine support needs.
- Assist with onsite training as well as day to day coaching and mentoring of DSPs in alignment with the NYS Competencies.
- Assists with staff scheduling and shift assignments to ensure safety and minimum staffing pattern are always met.
- Responsible for providing performance coaching and mentoring for continued growth and development of DSPs.
- Performs as a DSP as needed:
- Based on the needs of those receiving services, DSPs will also be responsible for housekeeping, cooking, laundry services, general maintenance of the worksite; and providing physical support with daily activities, personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting in/out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
- Provides transportation to individuals when necessary.
- Stays informed regarding state and OPWDD regulations that impact the health, safety and welfare needs of individuals who receive services in order to best advocate for the person.
- Evaluates medical needs of persons served through observation and communication with those providing services and communicates such needs to SM and site RN.
- Reviews all documentation and ensures required documentation for billing is present and accurate by following Residential Habilitation regulations and agency policy and procedures.
- Responsible for daily management of and compliance with Personally Managed Funds (PMF).
- Responsible for keeping inventory of necessary personal items for anyone new moving into the IRA including agency furniture, linens and personal hygiene.
- Audits weekly needs of the site and individuals, including supplies, maintenance repairs, issues with Agency vehicles, and reports to SM.
- Assists in training staff regarding behavioral plans and interventions.
