Mental Health Specialist (10 hours per week)
Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP) certification or similar may be required.
The Mental Health Specialist will assist Community Services Foundation to accomplish its mission and vision. The position focus is to complete participant (residents and staff) assessments, make referrals, work with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans, and conduct individual and group follow up sessions.

Work Environment
Primary office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00-6:00; schedule may shift to start earlier, end later, or involve weekend work based on business needs, workload, and other factors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, write, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle or feel (e.g. type, write, etc.); and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have reliable transportation and ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements and to facilitate on-site visits to properties (10% travel estimated).

CSF coordinates partnerships that provide programs and services that have been identified by the owner and residents. The Mental Health Specialist will assist Community Services Foundation to accomplish its mission and vision. The position focus is to complete participant (residents and staff) assessments, make referrals, work with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans, and conduct individual and group follow up sessions.
- You will also provide crisis intervention when required.
- Collecting and interpreting participant information to perform assessments and referral plans.
- Developing and implementing supportive plans for a range of reporting concerns such as anxiety, depression, personality, and behavioral disorders, phobias, post-traumatic stress, and more.
- Monitoring participants’ progress and liaising with other healthcare professionals to adjust treatment plans as required.
- Facilitating group and one-on-one sessions.
- Maintaining detailed notes for all participants in your caseload.
- Liaising with parole officers, social workers, community members, and teachers, as required.
- Scheduling meetings with family members and caregivers to discuss treatment plans and appropriate management techniques.
- Observing the appropriate workplace and health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working in a mental healthcare setting is preferred.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field may be advantageous.
- Certified Mental Health Professional (CMHP) certification or similar may be required.
- A sound understanding of various therapy types, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, multimodal therapy, and more.
- Working knowledge of software such as TherapyNotes, ShareNotes, and Procentive may be advantageous.
- Superior problem-solving and observational skills.
- Resilience and sound judgment.
- The ability to work rotational shifts and weekends when required.
