ACT Counselor

The Opportunity: We are seeking to hire an ACT Counselor to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. This individual provides group and individual clinical interventions for persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses, substance use disorders and or co-occurring medical conditions in congruence with team fidelity standards for ACT Unit clients.

What Youll Do:

• Provide individualized, stage wise, and harm reducing counseling services to meet the needs of the clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses and substance use disorders that are served by ACT treatment team.
• Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups to meet the needs of the clients served by ACT treatment team, with primary emphasis on programming for older adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders. Development and facilitation of support/educational groups for clients families included.
• Provide counseling services, office and community based, within credentials and competency, to participants under the supervision of Assertive Community Treatment Manager.
• Develop the individuals service plan in accordance with established agency procedures. Performs crisis resolution using the least restrictive intervention.
• Coordinate services with other providers and consults with other treatment team members as appropriate.
• Provides cross training to ACT treatment teams on basic counseling interventions, skills, and communication and other topics as deemed appropriate.
• Maintain relevant documentation in accordance with agency documentation standards.
• This position is full-time (40 hours a week) working normal business hours.

What Were Looking For:

• Masters degree in a Social Sciences field required.
• LPC, LSW, or LICDC required. LPCC or LISW preferred.
• Experience working with older adults preferred.
• Knowledge of a variety of treatment approaches and modalities including cognitive behavioral, trauma informed, motivational interviewing, Wellness Initiative for Senior Education, and other evidence/research-based treatment approaches.
• A valid Ohio drivers license and insurability through the Agencys insurance carrier required.
• A deeply held belief in CSSs recovery-centered mission.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse challenges.
• Excellent organizational, attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Skill in managing time and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work non-judgmentally with individuals whose behavior and belief systems are incongruent with that of society and/or your personal beliefs.
• Perseverance in goals with individuals who may not improve or may only improve slowly.

• Pay for this position starts at $24.00-28.50/hr for candidates holding an LSW, LPC, or LICDC
• Pay for this position starts at $26.91- 32.00/hr for candidates holding an LISW or LPC
