The Individual Child Aide - School Age Program, will foster a safe and supportive environment in the After-School program for children with learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges. The role focuses on providing individualized support to help these children successfully integrate into the program. This is a part time position - up to 19.5 hours weekly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Offer one-on-one support to children aged 5-13 with special emotional or learning needs within the after-school program.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children through effective relationship-building techniques.
- Assist in the childs involvement in all program routines, including peer interactions and group activities.
- Follow the guidance of their supervisor regarding child behavior management.
- Implement recommended interventions, using sensory and emotional support tools, and respond appropriately to the childs behaviors.
- Observe and provide feedback on the effectiveness of interventions to support the childs self-regulation.
- Ensure the childs safety at all times, manage unsafe behaviors, and report concerns to the Site Manager.
- Communicate with parents at the end of the shift, as needed, in coordination with the Site Manager.
- Report any concerns to the School Age Inclusion Specialist.
- Collaborate professionally with School Age and clinical staff.
- Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with school-age children in an educational or childcare setting is required.
- Preferred experience with children who have behavioral, developmental, or emotional challenges.
- Ability to engage and connect positively with individual children.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
- Completion of BRC to obtain suitability confirmation is required.
- Recent physical exam and proof of MMR vaccination are required.
- Language skills in Spanish, Swahili, or Portuguese are a plus.
- Availability from 2-6 PM on most weekdays is essential.
