The Resident Services Coordinator will report to the Director of Common Ground Development Corporation (CGDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Community Teamwork Inc. (CTI), and play a key role in supporting residents at CGDC portfolio properties as well as CGDC initiatives and development activities in various communities. CGDC currently owns and operates 129 units of affordable housing serving seniors, families and disabled individuals. The Resident Services Coordinator will develop and implement strategies to engage CGDC residents, support tenancy stabilization, and offer opportunities and programs geared towards enhancing their quality of life and enriching their communities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in designing and implementing a resident engagement strategy for CGDC housing communities in various localities (Lowell, Acton, Westford, Dracut). Travel to these locations as needed.

Facilitate the formation of resident councils and encourage active resident participation through one-on-one meetings, strategic discussions, classes and workshops, and community-building events.

Coordinate with on-site management staff to facilitate on-site events, workshops, programs and mitigate tenancy issues.

Partner with internal departments and external organizations to facilitate services and programs on-site, organize resident events, and expand opportunities for CGDC residents.

Conduct outreach to keep residents informed about available programs and resources in their communities and provide referrals to community-based supportive services both at CTI and other agencies.

Promote civic engagement, leadership training, and community involvement within CGDC residences and the broader communities.

Assist in preparing and conducting resident surveys to measure resident satisfaction, determine resident needs, and as required by funders and organizational programs/initiatives.

Promote tenancy stabilization through lease education, crisis intervention, identifying rental and benefits assistance, and reasonable accommodation advocacy.

Maintain resident outreach and engagement tracking document.

Contribute to community advocacy and planning efforts that support CGDC’s development of new affordable housing and preservation projects.

Participate in public information sessions regarding proposed development activities and new unit lease-up.

Serve as primary point of contact for CGDC housing availability inquiries.

Assist with organization-wide initiatives and events, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in community organizing, leadership development, or resident engagement.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience providing training, technical support, and organizational guidance to diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with community and housing development issues; experience in affordable housing is a plus.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse ethnic, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Knowledge of Lowell and its surrounding neighborhoods is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform local travel as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, and graphic design is preferred.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with teams and partner organizations.
