What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Manager position at Community Village?
Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily operation of the dietary department in accordance with Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Home for the Aged regulations and Community Village.
- Plans menu, orders supplies, create and maintain employee schedules, and keep records.
- Performs actual cooking, baking and serving.
- Maintains individual meal cards for each resident.
- Responsible for dietary budget, and manages purchasing/inventory and staffing to meet approved budget.
- Maintains quality and sanitation standards.
- Maintains scheduling of staff to provide coverage for all shifts.
- Rotates working weekends and holidays.
Job Standards:
- Preferred to have a current Saginaw Co. Health Department ServSafe management certificate.
- Must have knowledge of culinary technique, basic nutrition and sanitation.
- Ability to move weights up to 60 pounds in the process of handling kitchen items including pans of food or heavy food items.
- Must have current CPR certification, will train if needed.
- Reports to Administrator.
