Shift Schedule:
This is a 40-hour/week position where you may be asked to work days, evenings, overnights, and/or weekends. Please do not consider this position if you are unwilling to work weekends or evenings. As a Specialist, your schedule will look different from week to week, but you will consistently have two days off in a row.
The Role:
Community Vision is hiring Supported Living (SL) Specialist to work one-on-one with people with developmental disabilities on a rotating basis. We do not provide support in groups or congregate care settings.
As an SL Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with accessing the community, growing their relationships, and managing daily living tasks. You will also be responsible for electronic record-keeping and administration of medications and treatments.
The Specialist role is ideal for someone who is highly skilled in supporting people with developmental disabilities and is able to adapt quickly to various needs and communication styles of multiple individuals. While the Specialist will only work one-on-one with a supported person, they will be required to carry out the support needs for up to 20 different individuals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be able to provide physical transfer support (including using a Hoyer) and push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable assisting individuals with their hygiene support needs and providing personal care.
- Ability to work around pets (cats, dogs, birds, etc.)
- Frequent driving throughout various locations in the Portland Metro area, including but not limited to: Portland, Tigard, Sherwood, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Oregon City, Gresham and Fairview, required.
- OIS Certification Required (provided by Community Vision)
- Submit and pass a criminal background check through DHS.
- Must not be on the OIG List of Excluded Individuals and Entities.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (certification by Community Vision provided as needed)
