We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join our team. Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with autism, assisting them in daily living activities.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in developing social skills and engaging in community activities.
- Monitor and document client progress and behavior, reporting any significant changes to the care team.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with health guidelines.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring clients when necessary.
- Collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care principles is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is desirable.
- Experience with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility challenges as needed.
- A background in nursing or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
