Join our team as a Day Support Professional (DSP) and help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience personal growth, fulfillment, and independence. This role is an integral part of our Day Services program, fostering an inclusive and engaging environment that aligns with each participant’s unique goals and aspirations.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll be partnering with day program participants while collaborating with a dedicated team, including the Day Services Manager, Associate Day Services Manager, QIDP Facilitator, Clinical Support Professionals, and other key team members.
What You’ll Do
- Empower Individuals: Support participants in achieving personal satisfaction through engaging, person-centered activities.
- Foster Independence: Guide and encourage skill-building in communication, mobility, personal care, and community involvement.
- Create Inclusive Environments: Work alongside clinical staff to develop meaningful, barrier-free experiences tailored to each participant’s interests and needs.
- Ensure Safety & Well-Being: Assist with dining, lifting, mobility, and crisis intervention while maintaining a respectful and dignified approach to care.
- Provide Safe Transportation: Drive participants to outings and, when needed, assist with home-to-program transportation.
- Document & Communicate Progress: Maintain accurate electronic documentation and share observations with the support team to help shape participant goals and outcomes.
- Adaptability & Teamwork: Be ready to assist in other program areas as needed, including residential settings during inclement weather or staffing shortages.
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for Helping Others: A strong commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform kneeling and lunging movements, and sustain physical activity throughout the day.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required for transporting participants safely.
- Willingness to Learn: Must complete and maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration (AMAP), and Crisis Intervention (SCIP-R).
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA certification is a plus.
