Job Summary

Compass Digital has a Great Opportunity for a full time Charlotte, NC based role for an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Technology Delivery.

This highly visible position in our Digital Operations Organization will assume management of a team of delivery managers responsible for delivering retail technology solutions into our B&I and Higher Ed division. Projects consist of the implementation of front of house retail solutions - including point of sale, kiosks, digital signage, and e-commerce solutions. The ideal candidate will lead our delivery organization, combining strong project management expertise with the ability to inspire and cultivate a positive, high-performance culture. This role requires strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to driving successful project outcomes across various technology initiatives.

Leadership and Strategy :

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure project priorities support business objectives, and drive innovative initiatives that enable speed at scale
  • Lead and inspire a team of project managers - promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence
  • Assess the team’s skills and identify gaps for training and development, while also recruiting and retaining top talent
  • Champion deep cross-functional collaboration, acting as a bridge between various internal teams, operations, and external vendor partners to ensure alignment and avoid silos
  • Partner with our Vendor Strategy Office for strategic oversight and monitoring of vendor relationships and performance
  • Project Oversight and Execution :

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery lifecycle, ensuring that projects are not only completed on time, within scope, and within budget but with the highest level of service excellence and quality.
  • Provide strategic guidance on project planning, risk management, and work distribution / resource allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners to ensure mutual accountability and swift resolution of risks and issues, while creating contingency plans to mitigate vendor risks and ensure continuity in the event of vendor failure.
  • Cultivate strong relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point to our business partners; focusing on client needs, customer satisfaction, and ensuring our services consistently deliver value.
  • Continuously refine and enhance project management processes to improve speed, efficiency and quality.
  • Regularly review project outcomes and adjust processes and / or strategies to optimize performance, using data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies
  • Implement best practices and encourage innovative approaches to problem-solving.
  • Job Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in project management or technology delivery, with 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven success in leading teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheets, MS Dynamics); PMP Certification required.
  • Experience leading vendor relationships and ensuring strategic alignment of vendor deliverables with organizational goals
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.
  • Passionate about encouraging a positive organizational culture and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in hardware, software, or technology deployment is a strong plus.
