Job Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support our accounting department with a wide range of financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist the Controller with daily, weekly, monthly and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Prepare and assist with financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and other ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Assist in preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting by tracking expenses and financial performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide support during audits by preparing and submitting required documentation.
- Represents the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or working towards a degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Experience requirements may be met through professional experience or coursework completed as part of a degree program.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Excel and Sap, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
