Job Summary
As the Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the management and operation of the culinary department. Your responsibilities include aiding in daily food preparation, menu development, and garnishing, while ensuring culinary standards and compliance. You will also assist the Executive Chef with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Executive Chef in managing kitchen expenses and maintaining budget control.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and develop menus.
- Oversee and execute catering events.
- Implement new culinary programs in partnership with the marketing and culinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Progressive experience in culinary/kitchen management; catering experience preferred.
- Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
- Skilled in institutional and batch cooking.
- Strong knowledge of current food and catering trends, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and presentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet usage.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
- Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
