Position Title: SOUS CHEF at Macomb-Oakland Hospital
Reports To: Executive Chef
Schedule: Full time; must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some 1st shift (roughly 5a-2pm) and 2nd shift (roughly 12p-9p) hours with rotating weekends. More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary
As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the food and nutrition culinary department for a facility. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, food quality, and cleanliness standards, development of menu items and their preparation and garnishment. This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, entrepreneurial culinary professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with handling inventory, ordering, cost controls and controlling expenditures
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of 35-40 hourly associates
- Assists with planning and development of menus
- Produces and executes mid to high end catering events
- Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
- Culinary Arts degree or certification
- High volume food service operations and catering experience
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences
- Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Must be willing to participate in patient/client satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certification
- Experience with purchasing/ordering and inventory
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare related environment
