Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care including health and pain assessments, vital sign monitoring, and daily patient care at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Execute all medication administration duties, encompassing medication passes, injections, and supervision of self-administration.
- Oversee medication management by accurately completing and updating the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and counting controlled substances.
- Educate patients and their families on physical health and medication protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care, involving staff, residents, families, physicians, psychiatrists, and pharmacies.
- Document and report observable changes in patients’ behavior, attitude, and physical state.
- Assist in various diagnostic and treatment procedures as needed.
- Provide training on procedures and protocols to new hires.
- Engage actively in team meetings and leadership discussions as assigned.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills in verbal, written, and nonverbal forms.
- Exhibit organizational and emotional maturity to manage multiple stressors and challenging situations.
- Provide direct care to adult patients, including those who may exhibit physical or verbal agitation.
- Participate in mandatory overtime as required.
- Proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to effectively navigate stressful environments.
- Capability to provide direct care to adults in various states of agitation.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Practical Nursing Certificate or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is mandatory.
- Current licensure as an LPN, RN, or GPN/GN is required; candidates must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
