Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital sign monitoring, and daily patient care in the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, ensuring proper handling and documentation, including medication administration records (MAR) and controlled substances management.
- Educate patients and their families regarding physical health and medication management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including staff, physicians, and pharmacists, to coordinate optimal care for residents.
- Document and report observable changes in patients' behaviors and physical conditions.
- Support staff with diagnostic and treatment procedures and provide training to new employees.
- Participate actively in team meetings and leadership discussions as required.
- Provide direct care to adults, remaining adaptable in high-pressure situations, including managing interactions with agitated patients.
- Engage in mandatory overtime when necessary.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional competencies to handle stressors effectively.
- A compassionate approach to patient care and a collaborative mindset.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience is required, with preference for experience in a hospital or acute care environment.
- Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is mandatory.
- Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
