Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant/Nurse LPN, you will play a pivotal role in our integrated care team by:
- Preparing patients for examinations and treatments, including gathering patient histories and vital signs, and documenting findings in patient records.
- Ensuring examination and treatment rooms are equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies.
- Performing various procedures as directed, such as venipunctures, urinalysis, and EKGs.
- Administering immunizations and other injections as appropriate.
- Documenting and phoning in patient prescriptions as necessary.
- Providing patient education and instructions to enhance their understanding of health management.
- Assisting physicians and nurse practitioners in preparations for minor surgeries and physical exams.
- Maintaining up-to-date patient files, records, and relevant information.
- Following all safety regulations and standards, including CLIA and OSHA guidelines.
- Assisting with the scheduling of tests and treatments while managing communications with patients.
- Monitoring supply inventories and ordering medical stock when required.
- Participating in all mandatory training sessions to uphold professional ethical conduct.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills:
- Proficient knowledge of medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as venipunctures, EKGs, and other related procedures.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite to manage documentation and communications efficiently.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Practical Nursing certificate is mandatory for Nurse LPN applicants.
- At least two years of relevant work experience if medical assistant certification is not obtained, with experience needing to be verified by the Director of Nursing for Primary Care.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
