Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, including taking histories and vital signs
- Document patient information accurately in medical records
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms with the required instruments and supplies
- Perform various medical procedures such as venipunctures, urinalysis, and EKGs
- Administer immunizations and other injections as necessary
- Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, treatments, and self-management strategies
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and supplies
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor surgeries and physicals
- Manage scheduling for tests and treatments
- Maintain patient files and adhere to safety regulations
- Collaborate with medical providers to ensure coordinated patient care
- Conduct follow-up calls for discharged patients to discuss their care plans and appointments
- Proficient in patient care techniques and procedures
- Strong communication abilities for effective patient education
- Capability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Familiarity with healthcare technology software
- Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA regulations to ensure compliance
- High School diploma or GED is required
- An Associate degree in nursing is preferred
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a licensed practical nurse in a primary healthcare setting is essential
