Key Responsibilities
- Share personal experiences of recovery and promote the use of effective recovery tools.
- Assist individuals in recognizing and harnessing their resilience.
- Enable connections between individuals and the broader community.
- Support individuals with mental health and substance use disorders in building a robust support network.
- Empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding their treatment and recovery.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to provide insights on client Wellness Plans.
- Engage in training and development opportunities until full certification is achieved, while contributing to client care in a supervised capacity.
- Provide transportation assistance to clients as needed; driving is a core function of this role.
- Lived experience in behavioral health or substance use recovery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assist individuals in developing coping strategies.
- Proficient in identifying personal strengths and resources.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a treatment team.
- Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services.
- Completion of a state-approved training program and passing a standardized examination are required.
- A valid driver’s license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage are necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
