Estimating Repairs:
- Conduct thorough inspections of railcars to evaluate damage, wear, and maintenance needs.
- Determine repair scope, labor, and material costs accurately.
- Create detailed repair estimates for clients.
- Collaborate with technicians and management for precise cost projections.
- Negotiate pricing and repair recommendations with customers.
Compliance Coordination:
- Guarantee all repairs align with industry regulations such as AAR, FRA, DOT, and company standards.
- Maintain and update compliance documentation and records consistently.
- Perform audits and inspections to verify compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and customers to address compliance issues effectively.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain meticulous records of inspections, estimates, and repairs.
- Generate reports on repair trends, costs, and compliance status.
- Ensure proper documentation submission for billing and regulatory purposes.
Customer & Vendor Communication:
- Act as a primary contact for customers concerning repair estimates and compliance issues.
- Coordinate with vendors to procure parts and materials for repairs.
- Offer cost-effective repair solutions to customers based on expertise.
Field & Shop Coordination:
- Work closely with mobile repair teams to schedule and prioritize tasks.
- Assist in ensuring repair crews have essential tools and documentation.
- Monitor job progress and adjust estimates if additional repairs are required.
Continuous Improvement & Safety:
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and best practices.
- Recommend process enhancements to boost efficiency and compliance.
- Advocate safety standards and ensure adherence to safety protocols by repair crews.
