MRU Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MRU Technician to join our team. As an MRU Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on railcars at customer sites and various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of railcar systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on railcars, including mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to railcar brakes, doors, wheels, couplers, and other components.
• Conduct repairs and replacement of defective parts in the field, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, time spent, and specific repairs or adjustments made.
• Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with other technicians and management to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while working both in the field and at client sites.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction with services provided and maintain positive relationships.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in railcar maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Two years of experience working with railcars or in a similar technical role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of railcar systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting, welding, and general maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make quick, informed decisions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions and environments.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, along with benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
