Summary
Industry leading pump manufacturer is hiring for a Test Lab Technician to assist in testing skid mounted centrifugal pump packages. This opportunity will work with the Test Lab Operator to run various tests to ensure pumps are fabricated and assembled to proper engineering specifications. Technician will hook up piping, PLC's, motor, and other equipment to centrifugal pump to test it according to industry and clients standards. Position is contract-to-hire.
Responsibilities of the Test Lab Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Hooking testing equipment to pump unit - piping, motor, PLC's, etc.
- Ensure piping has correct seal prior to testing process
- Monitor pump during testing to identify any leaks that may require tightening to proceed with test procedure
- Support Test Lab Operator in installation of proper testing equipment
- Utilize appropriate hand and power tools (i.e. torque wrenches, impact wrenches, etc.) to install pump in test lab.
- Clean pump and testing area after testing process is completed
- Assist Test Lab Operator and assembly mechanics in identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues or failures during testing
- Support production team in other areas as needed or required (i.e. assembly, mounting equipment to skids, inventory, etc.)
Qualifications of the Test Lab Operator include, but are not limited to:
- Familiar with pressure or hydro testing of pumps or other rotating equipment
- Experienced in mechanical assembly and disassembly utilizing a variety of hand and pneumatic tools
- Basic knowledge of three phase electrical motors (low and medium voltage) and VFDs is a plus
- Previous experience with rotating machinery alignment and vibration monitoring & analysis preferred
- Ability to maintain safety awareness attitude at all times
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to undertake additional training as deemed necessary by company in order to maintain technical understanding of new and/or improved tools, techniques, processes and safety
- Dedicated team player
Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Working Conditions: Mostly indoors in office and shop areas that is heated and air conditioned
Training/Certifications: Training in basic pumps and hydraulics desired. Vibration analysis certificate LV2 or higher preferred.
Shift Time/Overtime: Primarily day shift with potential for evening or night shift when test schedule requires. Overtime hours common during peak schedule loading times.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
