Description
The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, compliance, employee records and other various clerical duties. Employees working in this position must maintain and protect confidential information and only distribute/discuss to those having a need to know.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Assist Human Resource department with annual compliance audits, year-end processes, and data collection.
- Support the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Supports onboarding new employees, ensuring all paperwork and training sessions are completed.
- Assists Human Resource Department with various research projects and/or special projects.
Other Job Functions:
- Performing internal file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
- Helps maintains job ads, organizing resumes, job applications and job descriptions.
- Scanning documents into electronic format or filing paper documents into storage systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- Currently pursuing or has obtained a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 1 (one) year of human resources experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, talent management systems, and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Paylocity, and Costpoint.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to learn and apply new information and/or skills. Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 10 lbs. This is largely a sedentary role; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
