RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Establish treatment plans
- Prescribe medications including controlled substances if needed
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
- Manage work related injuries and illnesses
- Perform DOT physicals (certification required, will provide training)
- Promote good health practices
- Masters Degree
- Active state NP/PA licensing
- Active unrestricted DEA license
- BLS certified
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Skills
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Experience in primary care or acute care
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics and reliability
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Suturing
- Splinting
- Initial interpretation of digital x-rays
- Incision and drainage
- Slit lamp use
- Reduction of simple fractures and dislocations
