It's got to be you! Growing 6 year old tech company in an exciting, hot space (literally), is hiring a business development Director. We are conducting the search on their behalf.


Problem Space: The generative AI boom has turned the challenges of computing performance and energy efficiency into huge issues for data center, CPUs and high-performance computing. Faster chips mean more power and energy you need and more heat that's generated.


This startup (now an emerging revenue generating company), specializes in disruptive thermal management solutions for High-Performance Computing (HPC). Their patented solution not only revolutionizing data center cooling but preserving the planet with precise cooling at the chip level where and when needed. This reduces server operating costs but, more importantly, increases the computational power and output of each chip. Less cost, more output. Traditional cooling systems are energy-intensive and often lack efficiency.

 

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will be pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's market presence in the AI Infrastructure – datacenter space. The role requires a blend of technical understanding and sales acumen to drive growth in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

The right candidate, would have a pioneer and entrepreneurial mentality. Do what it takes, customer centric.


While extensive experience is not mandatory 5 -10 years direct experience, the candidate should demonstrate openness, flexibility, and a willingness to thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment. They must also exhibit the ability to collaborate effectively within a multicultural team (the company has R & D in Italy).


Key Responsibilities

·  Ability to identify and develop business opportunities that expand market presence. drive long-term growth and increase profitability.

·   Build and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and create profitable customer relationships, partnerships, and collaborations in a high intensity startup environment.

·   Gain deep knowledge of the company’s offerings in AI Infrastructure, semiconductor, and cooling solutions for data centers.

·   Conduct competitive analyses and market research to identify opportunities and trends.

·   Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to network, increase brand visibility, network with key stakeholders, and explore new business avenues.

·   Engage with potential and existing clients to understand their needs, particularly in areas like energy efficiency, cooling solutions, and semiconductor performance.

·    Lead in proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.

·    Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals for internal and external audiences.

·    Manage CRM tools and ensure the tracking and reporting of business development activities.

·    Facilitate communication and coordination among geographically dispersed teams to ensure seamless project execution and alignment on business goals.

·    Work in tandem with product management and engineering teams to ensure product-market fit and support go-to-market strategies that result in the successful execution and maximize product adoption and satisfaction.

·     Create strategic partnerships and negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure mutual growth and success.

·     Report regularly to the executive team and board on growth metrics, market opportunities, and performance against business development targets.


Qualifications

·   Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineer, Computer Science or related field; MBA or equivalent

·   Proven experience in Business development ideally in startups or high-growth environments.

·   Track record of a minimum of 5 successful years in business development, sales, or related roles and ideally with a focus on technology sectors like semiconductors or data centers, but not crucial.

·   Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development.             

·   Excellent relationship-building skills with a knack for fostering long-term partnerships.

·    Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while managing details.

·    Strong negotiation skills and communication and presentation abilities.

·    Proven track record of hitting sales targets and managing complex sales cycles.

·  Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, adapt to evolving market needs, and curious to learn and expand your knowledge.

·   Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and strategic approach to business development & overcoming challenges.

Must be eligible to work in the USA

No Relocation-could be Hybrid role if you're out of WA state, but preference is for local great Pacific NW candidates.
