Job Description
Competitive Choice Inc. is seeking a Customer Service /Sourcing Representative to join our team. This position is in our Houston, TX office. This position will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a drive to exceed expectations. - Consistently deliver excellent customer service that promotes customer retention and customer relationships.
- Assisting customers and sales staff by preparing sales orders and quotes.
- Upselling quantity, campaign items and or in-stock items whenever possible.
- Calling customers to see if they need to re-order or suggest new items.
- Oversee and facilitate smooth e-commerce transactions into our internal database.
- Respond to RFQ requests for commodity goods and services.
- Respond, complete, follow-up and maintain RFQ requests received from federal, state and local government agencies.
- Verify customer requisitions by comparing items requested to master pricing lists; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternative in stock inventory when applicable.
- Communicate with procurement specialists on purchase orders by verifying specifications and obtaining approval from requisitioning departments substitutions if necessary.
- Ensure Competitive Choice Inc., has the best product assortment for our customers at the best cost. Approve and disapprove vendors based on performance.
- Contacts vendors for quotes as requested by internal customers.
- Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
- Identify and develop reductions in purchasing costs, through analysis of frequent purchases and request secondary quotes.
- Contact suppliers to resolve shipment errors as needed.
- Maintain an organized workspace and filing system.
Desired Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, familiarity with distribution industry and distribution processes, ability to multi-task, proactive problem solver and highly organized.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3 years Customer Service experience required.
- 2-3 years of purchasing or sourcing assistance experience required.
- Experience working in the distribution industry preferred.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Excel skills in Vlook up and pivot tables desired.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
