Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our Adult Day Center.

The Adult Day Center Aide provides assistance and support to elderly or disabled individuals attending adult daycare centers. These aides help improve the daily quality of life for clients by ensuring they receive necessary care, supervision, and social interaction. The responsibilities vary based on the needs of the clients but generally include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Daily Activities:
  • Help clients with personal care tasks, such as dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
  • Monitor and assist clients with mobility and transportation within the facility.
  • Ensure clients participate in recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to their interests and needs.
  • Medication Support:
  • Assist with the administration of medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Ensure clients take their medications on time and report any concerns to nursing staff or healthcare professionals.
  • Monitoring Client Health:
  • Observe clients for any changes in physical or mental health, such as mood swings, physical discomfort, or signs of illness.
  • Report changes in clients’ condition to appropriate supervisors or healthcare staff.
  • Help monitor vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, or blood sugar levels, if required.
  • Social Interaction and Emotional Support:
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, encouraging clients to engage in conversation and participate in activities.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and comfortable environment for clients, addressing their needs and preferences.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of clients’ attendance, health status, and activities throughout the day.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a Safe Environment:
  • Ensure that the facility is clean, organized, and safe for clients.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of the environment, including arranging furniture for activities or meals.
  • Help with basic housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting areas used by clients.
  • Collaborating with Healthcare Providers:
  • Work closely with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide well-rounded care for clients.
  • Communicate any concerns or observations to the medical staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Providing Transportation Assistance (if applicable):
  • Assist clients with entering and exiting transportation vehicles, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel.
  • Help clients move to and from the daycare center if needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required. Additional certifications or coursework in healthcare, such as CPR, first aid, or nursing assistant training, can be advantageous.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with elderly, disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals in a care setting is often preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and staff.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward others.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols, and the ability to follow guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: The role may require lifting, assisting with mobility, and standing for long periods.
  • Environment: The position typically takes place in an adult daycare center, where aides may interact with clients in both group and one-on-one settings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.01 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
