What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer/Utility Plant Shift Lead position at Complete Building Services?
About the Role
The Lead Utility Plant Shift Engineer shall ensure proper operation and maintenance of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, site buildings, associated equipment and electrical systems. CUP operations shall be maintained on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Operate and maintain site-critical Engineering systems and equipment that supply the facility with heat, utility and conditioned power, ventilation, air conditioning and other environmental and critical systems
- Maintain plant and equipment in sound operating condition
- Support PM with the engineering systems, drawings, and equipment, including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS systems, etc.
- Monitor and control building equipment; operate facility's BAS
- Periodic inspections of all Engineering systems and equipment and monitoring equipment operating logs
- Proficiently use test equipment and devices pertinent to building operating systems and analyze test results
- Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences. Respond to emergency situations and perform and perform any and all tasks necessary for the protection of occupants and property
- Under minimal supervision perform maintenance on mission critical environment maintenance activities
- Operate and maintain critical systems such as HVAC, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), generators, building automated systems, and utility systems
- Lifting and physical exertion required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Should Have
- Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI) required
- Must possess an active HVAC Journeyman or Second Grade Stationary Engineer's License in Virginia, Maryland or the District of Columbia
- EPA - CFC Universal Certification
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive and hands-on experience in an environment of similar proportions and mission as the assigned area of responsibility
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of electrical systems, controls, generators, and life safety systems, including five (5) years related experience in data center or complex mission critical environments
- Ability to organize and prioritize work load with minimal supervision
- Must possess an active HVAC journeyman or Second grade Stationary Engineers License in Virginia, Maryland, or District of Columbia
