This position is in-person at our Toms River, NJ corporate office.
Complete Care Management is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Payroll to oversee payroll operations across our multi-state organization. This in-person role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for our employees while driving efficiency and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations & Compliance:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure proper payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
- Lead the payroll close process, ensuring payroll cycles are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Collaborate with the HRIS team to optimize payroll systems and integrations.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Supervise and mentor payroll team members, including Payroll Leads and Processors.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across all locations.
- Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll aligns with company policies and financial objectives.
- Generate payroll reports and analytics for executive leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state, high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (ADP, UKG, or similar preferred).
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a payroll team.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
