Business Office Manager Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous Business Office Management experience
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting strongly preferred
- Experience in Long Term Care accounting preferred
- Experience with CMS preferred
- Experience with Point Click Care preferred
- Experience in third party billing and collections: Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances
- Experience with Medicaid Pending process
- Knowledgeable of Medicare billing requirements and regulations
- Record cash receipts in the proper account
- Maintain necessary billing and financial information in resident files
- Maintain resident trust accounts and balances monthly
- Work efficiently, and communicate with corporate billers
- Coordinate all collection efforts in collaboration with the nursing home Administrator.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming payments with addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as necessary and maintain appropriate back-up records
- Maintain system for recording accounts receivables
- Knowledge of reimbursement system, allowable services and documentation required to ensure accurate billing
- Maintain confidentiality of all information
- Maintains effective communication with residents, families, facility staff and business office staff members
- Work with residents to qualify for Medicaid
- Review payroll bi-weekly and update personnel policies as needed.
- Coordinating interviews for new staff along with the recruitment team.
- Onboarding new hires and organizing orientations.
- Evaluate annual performance reviews as needed.
