Position: Land Surveying Field Chief
Location: Wenatchee, Washington
Job Description: As the Land Surveying Field Chief at Complete Design, Inc., you will be responsible for leading and managing survey field crews, overseeing on-site surveying operations, and ensuring the collection of accurate and reliable data. Your expertise in surveying techniques, equipment, and leadership will be crucial in delivering high-quality surveying solutions to our clients. Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Senior PLS
- Lead and manage the Land Surveying Field Crew during land surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
- Operate and maintain advanced surveying instruments and equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
- Establish and verify survey control points and benchmarks to ensure precise data collection.
- Review survey data, field notes, and sketches to ensure accuracy and completeness before office processing.
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient project coordination.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Survey Field Crew, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Assist in the preparation of survey reports, maps, and legal descriptions for project deliverables.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance and calibration to maintain optimal surveying performance.
- Continuously improve surveying techniques and knowledge through professional development and training opportunities.
- Ensure regular maintenance of assigned company vehicle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 4 years of experience as a Land Surveying Field Chief, leading surveying field operations, preferably in a private land surveying firm.
- Extensive knowledge of surveying techniques, instruments, and GPS technology.
- Proficiency in using surveying software and data processing tools.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor surveying staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and challenging terrains.
- Valid driver's license.
